Salute To Seniors: Darryl Haraway

As he is about to embark on his collegiate track & field career at Florida State University in the next month, Darryl Haraway leaves the state of Maryland as one of the fastest sprinters ever in state history. His 10.20 wind legal 100 PR from last year when he won the New Balance Nationals Outdoor 100 meter title along with his other sizzling high school personal bests of 6.28 55m, 6.70 55m, and 21.00 200m at DeMatha Catholic rank him as one of the all-time best in Maryland. What was your most memorable race/competition?

My most memorable race was when I won nationals as a junior in the 100 meters.

Where did you face your biggest competition?

I faced my biggest competition in 2014 when I raced Trentavis in the 200 at indoor nationals.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment was winning nationals in 2014.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in High School?

The thing I would do is just stay running track and not have played football.

What were your most difficult obstacles to overcome?

My most difficult obstacle was my senior year when I got hurt from football. I had to sit out of preseason training in track because of my torn meniscus.

What will you miss the most?

The thing I will miss the most is getting invited to the different meets.

What advice would you give to younger athletes?

The advice I would give to the younger athletes is keep training and never stop working hard because if you work hard your goal will come true and come in an effect at the right time as they did for me.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

He influenced me a lot to keep working hard and doing good things in school and on the track.

What are your college plans?

My plans for college is to be one of the best leaving Maryland and possibly make it professionally.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would like to say thank you to GOD first. He has brought me this far. If it wasn't for Him then I wouldn't know what else to do. I would also like to thank my coaches, my family and friends, MileSplit, FloTrack, and other social track medias out there for giving there time to put me out there in the spotlight.
