One of the few meets held this Saturday in Maryland was the Urbana Hawks Invitational held at 2 PM start to accommodate SAT testing athletes, but actually benefited the meet to allow a bit more of the overnight and morning rain to weaken to host the meet.

The boys team race saw a contest with 3 of the top 4 ranked squads in 3A with 3A #2 ranked Atholton boys tallying 52 points able to stay ahead of 3A #3 ranked Mt. Hebron (64 pts) and 3A #4 ranked Urbana (70 pts). Atholton was led by the individual race champion in senior Daniel Smolyak crossing the line 5 seconds ahead of South Carroll's Brian Cave (16:46) with a winning time of 16:41.

The Centennial girls were missing a few of their varsity girls yet still were able to win their third major invitational of the 2015 cross country season by a margin of 38 points ahead of the runners-up from Walkersville (129 pts) with a team score of 91 points.

Despite the rainy conditions, the girls race saw a great depth of quality times with an entire top 15 under 21 minutes on the Urbana High School 5K cross country course led by two sophomores battling it out at the end for first place with Liberty's Maeve Lyons in a 19:30 victory able to pull away from Mt. Hebron's Alexandra Banham (19:37).
