This year's Frederick County Championships took place at Woodsboro Park, the site of the Mountain Run Invitational and certainly one of the hardest courses in the state of Maryland. That didn't stop Linganore senior Micah Hewitson from defending his 2015 county title, however, winning with a time of 17:00.39. His teammate, Michael Belmaggio, surged to a second-place finish ahead of Urbana's Nathan Davis. The 1-2 punch was not enough to overcome the miniscule 15-second scoring spread from the Oakdale boys, who captured their first county championship in the school's brief history (opened 2010).

The girls race ended up being very non-dramatic, as Catoctin senior Julien Webster showed just how dominant she can be. She put nearly two minutes between herself and the field, clocking an impressive time of 19:35.56 on the challenging course. Webster's teammate, Lillie Perella, finished second, which was enough to overcome a nearly five-minute scoring spread and defeat the Urbana girls for the team title.
