Severna Park's Ryan Forsyth set an all-classification record of 9:16.00 in 2014, a mark that might not stand for much longer. Richard Montgomery's Rohann Asfaw showcased his potential last season with his 9:11.08 two mile at New Balance Indoor Nationals and has been borderline unbeatable in his senior cross country season. Asfaw may be in the same situation as Maria Coffin on the girls' side; if he goes for the 1600/3200 double he could just go for the win and not risk it by shooting for Forsyth's record. The ability to beat 9:16, however, is certainly there.
