MileSplit will be LIVE streaming Thursday's Ed Bowie Invitational at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland. A total of 56 schools and over 1,300 athletes will be competing in the meet, which action begins at 2:45 PM.

Plenty of exciting matchups and deep fields for a meet that kicks off the Holiday break before Christmas for most teams. The boys 300 should be a thriller with Darnell Pratt of Good Counsel, Will Moten & Thomas Alcorn of Westlake, and Eric Harrison Jr. of St. John's College. A sub 35 second flat track performance is not out of the question for the winner in the fast section.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Davis of Riverdale Baptist will make her season debut individually in the 300 meter dash bringing back her 39.45 PR from last winter. A potential state leading performance is possible for Davis.

Oxon Hill's Gary Ross and Aaron Robinson will star in the 500 and 800 respectively as well as likely in relay action for the Clippers. The 500 will be a hot race for Ross with the likes of Westlake's Alcorn and High Point's Ken Nelson, two of the state's fastest quarter milers going up against one of the best half milers in Ross.

The 55 meter hurdles for girls will have two of state's elite face off in Sydney Williams (8.05 PR) of Lackey and Taylor Grimes (8.15 PR) of Bishop McNamara.  The boys hurdles will have likely a whole finals well under 8 seconds including many of PG County's best including last year's meet champ Kollin Smith of Frederick Douglass. He will have Riverdale Baptist junior Daniel Whitfield to contend with as the current state leader Whitfield won last week's PG County Relays over Smith in the hurdles.

Good Counsel will have some of the leading distance runners and top seeds in the 1600 meter run between Claudia Wendt and Jimmy Vazzana, two of the best in the WCAC conference. The girls 800 will feature current state leader Antoinette Bradley of Friendly, who will look to go for a sub 2:20 effort on Thursday. Westlake's Jay Hall ran 9:49 for full two miles at the Bishop Loughlin Games and will go for his 3rd sub 9:50 race of the season at the Ed Bowie Invite.
