Chantilly senior Brandon McGorty has already made his mark at the PG Sportsplex this season, clocking season personal bests in the 1000 (2:26.87 at the F.I.T. Invitational) and 1600 (4:15.87 at the PR Winter Festival). This Saturday he will try his hand in the 500 in which he holds a personal best of 1:05.83. Any race featuring the talented Chantilly star is a must-watch and the rest of the field should provide him with some solid competition.

Bullis freshman Ashton Allen (younger brother of Eric and Austen) has already made his mark in Maryland, clocking season bests of 22.12, 35.60 and 49.89 on banked tracks in New York. Next he will make his 500 debut at the SMAC Classic where the rest of Maryland will get its first good chance to see the talented rookie in action.

One of the most improved runners in the state from last indoor season has been Northwood's Eldon Phillips. After running 51.41 in the 400 last spring he clocked a personal best of 1:08.13 at MCPS Meet #3 over winter break. With the right amount of competition he could be poised for an even bigger breakout at Saturday's meet.
