The Montgomery Invitational boys shot put meet record is only two years old but will face some stiff competition on Saturday. Washington-Lee's Benedict Draghi was one of the top throwers in the country last season, finishing eighth in the Championship section at New Balance Nationals with a personal best throw of 64'7.25. Draghi is also the defending champion from last year's Montgomery Invitational, in which he fell four feet shy of the meet record.

Another thrower to watch on Saturday is Chambersburg's Kelton Chastulik who threw an indoor personal best of 56 feet in his win at the Mountain Express Holiday Invitational up at Hagerstown Community College over winter break.
