1A Boys Team Champions - Boonsboro 127 Pts
The Boonsboro boys had the 1A team title wrapped up virtually halfway thru the meet as they were approaching the century mark in points, while no other team in the field would come close to triple digits. The squad had 3 individual state champions including two distance runners who will be back next year in sophomore Donovan McClellan winning the 1600 as the 4th seed in 4:37, while junior Ben Hartings pulled away convincingly in the 3200 with a time of 10:18.
The 1-2-3 finish in the 1600 with McClellan, Hartings, and Nicholas Kauffman was a huge point swing in their favor. The shot put competition also saw Boonsboro go 1-2 with Nick Kidwell (1st, 51-3) and Jordan Churchey (2nd, 47-5.50). Third place and another six points each was the magic number for all 3 of their relays.
