1A Girls Team Champions - Boonsboro 160 Pts
The greatest margin of victory of all Monday's team champions was found between the first place Boonsboro girls and second place Smithsburg girls in 1A as 83 points separated the two Washington County schools. Their team dominance only required one individual winner on the track in Camryn Harper with her 1:20.91 run in the 500 meter dash, but the Boonsboro girls did have two victorious relays in the 4x200 (1:53.25) and 4x400 (4:20.51).
Well after the final track race had been completed, the vaulters of Boonsboro racked up another 21 points led by state champ Bethany Lohman (9-3) and state runner-up Malia Simpson (8-6). Earlier in the field action, Rose Mary Minang became the squad's first state champion on the day with a throw of 32'1.25" in the shot put. Molly Jones was a runner-up twice in the distance races for both the 1600 (5:31) and 800 (2:29), while Maggie Luzzier was second as well in the 3200 (12:48) and 500 champ Harper added another 8 points as the 300 runner-up (43.07).
