Maryland's top boys in the class of 2020 were on display this weekend at New Balance Indoor Nationals. Ashton Allen, one of the younger brothers of national-class sprinter Eric Allen, put his name up on the national leaderboards by winning the freshman 400 in a new event meet record of 49 seconds flat.

One of the top freshman duos to ever come into the state of Maryland also grabbed some hardware this weekend. Richard Montgomery's Garrett Suhr closed hard in the freshman mile to take the win in 4:26.50. His teammate Seydi Sall came back in his first race back from an injury to take third place behind Ashton Allen in the freshman 400 in 50.43.

Over on the girls side it looks like Bullis has yet another rising star in the making, as freshman Shaniya Hall was the runner-up in the freshman 400 with a personal best of 56.34. Maryland also placed two more freshman girls (Blake's Serena Harrison and Flowers' Javon Watts) in the top ten.
