Kori Carter Voted VA's Biggest Sophomore Star

She ended indoors with a bang and certainly has opened her outdoor season also with a bang. This past week she solidified herself as the people's choice for VA's super sophomore by gaining 32% of the vote to the tune of 9,735 votes. Check out that poll here.

Being a Team War athlete means a couple things. First it means you are going to come to championship season ready for War and ready to win. Secondly it means you're training to peak late in the season and lastly it means you are going to be purposefully below the radar for as long as possible.

Kori partially achieved that goal indoors until states and nationals but outdoors it might be harder for her to do that. She is very much on pace to break some serious records and bring home a whole lot of points.

The event to watch Kori in this season is the 300H at states. She has run 42.74 before, finishing second at 5A States, but has also dropped serious time in the 500, 200, and 400H just from last year. That evidence leads us to believe she is not only capable of cracking the top 10 this season but going after her teammate, Brandee' Johnson's state record of 40.69 in the very near future.

Until someone beats her on the track or in the polls, it looks like Kori is going to stay VA's biggest sophomore superstar.
