1A Boys Pole Vault - Carter Nave (Allegany) 14'4
The top pole vaulter in the state of Maryland finished his 2017 spring season undefeated in the event and captured his third pole vault title in three tries. He is the only boy this spring to have cleared a height higher than 14 feet. Nave is not just a one-trick pony, either; he also finished fifth at the 1A state championships in the triple jump.
