Alison Betler: 2017 Summer Training Log Entry #7

Week #3: July 2-8

Sunday, July 2:
OFF.

Monday, July 3:
Today was a long run so I ran for 64 minutes at an 8:45 pace. It was really hot this morning so my teammate and I ran around Centennial Lake for some shade. Afterwards I got in push-ups, core work, and hip strengthening.

Tuesday, July 4:
This morning I had a 40 minute run which I completed at a 7:45 pace. I didn't feel too tired today and the run felt strong. Later I did 5 repetitions of 10 deadlifts, 15 push-ups, and farmer's walks.

Wednesday, July 5:
I ran for 30 minutes today at an 8:30 pace. Then I did 6 hill strides, 15 seconds on and 45 off. Today was a lighter day so I did some strengthening for my feet and ankles using ankle weights.

Thursday, July 6:
I'm leaving for a short beach trip this morning so I ran at 5 am before I left. It was storming and dark out so I decided to run on my treadmill to be safe. I got in 33 minutes at an 8:10 pace. I didn't have much time afterwards but I managed to get in a quick plank workout.

Friday, July 7:
This morning I ran 42 minutes at an 8:15 pace. I was feeling a little tired but I was still able to push through the run at a consistent pace. For my conditioning, I did 5 repetitions of 20 push-ups, 30 crunches, and 40 squats.

Saturday, July 8:
It was really hot today so I did an easy 32 minute run at about an 8:10 pace. The route I ran was very flat which helped me run through the heat. I got in 6 strides (15 seconds on 45 off) and afterwards I had a long stretching session and completed a core and lunge routine.

Weekly Total: 30 miles
