2A Girls

Editor's Picks: This year's 2A girls' race has all the makings of a toss-up. Poolesville's Nandini Satsangi and River Hill's Jasmine Tiamfook have yet to race this season but have matched up closely in the past. River Hill freshman Faith Meininger probably has the best chance of any freshman in the state to take home the state title. And don't forget about Hereford's Emily Konkus just because she didn't run at the regional meet: she finished fourth at last year's state meet and has the home course on her side. Konkus and the Hereford girls will be defending their state title against a host of teams including River Hill, Liberty, Poolesville and Winters Mill, and once again the added benefit of running the course every day could be the key factor on Saturday.
