UC Boys Win Team Title, Several NJ #1 Times Run at Bullis

The seeded heat of the SMR in which East Orange ran a NJ#1 US#8 3:30.91. 

New Jersey made its presence felt in a big way with a team title and 11 NJ#1 times were run at Saturday's Bullis Bulldog Invitational in Potomac, Md.

On the boys side, Union Catholic picked up field event wins from Brandon Patterson and Krishna White and had several other impressive performances on the way to capturing the boys team title, 64-43 over Dover of Delaware.

The East Orange boys won the SMR with a NJ #1, US #8, and meet record 3:30.91. Deptford won the 4x400 in a NJ #2 3:24.18, and ran a NJ #1 42.54 to place fourth in the 4x100.

Nick Parisi of Seton Hall Prep ran NJ #1 times in the 200 (21.90), and 400 (48.65), and Jakai Coker of West Side was second in the 400 hurdles in a NJ #1 54.69. 

In the boys SMR, the East Orange boys had splits of 48.1 from Kishaun Richardson, 21.3 from Akeem Lindo, 21.9 from Dominic Dazzell and 1:58.3 from Immyouri Etienne on the anchor.

Parisi placed second in the 400 in 48.65, and was fifth in the 200 in 21.90 to take over the top spots in NJ in both races.

On the girls side, Union Catholic produced four NJ#1 times. 

Leena Morant of UC ran a NJ #1 2:13.50 in the girls 800. Morant, a sophomore, was second in the 800 behind Nyjari McNeil of Franklin (Md.), who ran a US #6 and meet record 2:10.43. UC's Brianna Ewing lowered her own NJ #1 time to 14.55 when she was 5th in the 100 hurdles. UC's Jerika Lufrano was second in the 1,600 in a NJ #1 5:07.25, and Sydney Tucker ran a NJ #1 12.46 in the trials of the 100 dash. UC's Zamira Ysaac ran a NJ#2 and PR of 1:03.98 to finish fifth in the 400 hurdles.

The other two NJ #1 times came from the Columbia girls in the 4x100, fourth in 48.98, and from West Side's Tiyuana Evans in the 300 hurdles (46.75). 

In the boys team competition, Patterson won the shot put for Union Catholic (55-0 1/4) and was fifth in the discus (136-9). White had a big day in the jumps for UC. He won the triple jump with a PR and NJ #2 46-7 3/4, was fourth in the high jump at 6-2, and also went 21-0 in the long jump.

Also for UC, the 4x800 team was second in 8:13.96, sophomore Elijah Brown was third in the 400 with a NJ #2 48.67, Uchenna Duru was third in the shot put with a a PR of 50-11 1/4, David Saggio placed fourth in the discus with a PR of 139-0, and Elijah Abraham placed fourth in the 400 hurdles in 58.21.

In other NJ highlights, Ibrahim Fobay of EO was third in the 400 hurdles in a NJ #4 55.85 and 12th in the 110 hurdles with a PR of 14.94, and teammate Al-Tariq-Dunson of was sixth in the 110 hurdles in a NJ 32 14.58. Briana Reckling of Columbia ran a NJ #3 58.02 to place 12th in the girls 400. Isaiah Greene of West Side was fourth in the boys 300 hurdles in 39.63.
