Last year's Mountain Run Invitational provided a weekday showdown between the top two teams in Carroll County: Century and Liberty. Both teams will be a Woodsboro Park again this year, but another team has entered the county mix. The Westminster boys beat the defending county champs at the Hood College Invitational and were just 15 points behind them at Spiked Shoe. With a strong front trio of Brandon Arbaugh, Charlie Ferguson and Noah Griffin the Owls could be ready to make another statement on Wednesday. (Photo by Craig Amoss)

The Mountain Run Invitational is one of the largest weekday meets in Maryland throughout the cross country season and takes place on one of the most challenging courses in the state. It sort of has to, given that the name is "Mountain Run". Over a dozen teams - mostly from Frederick and Carroll counties - are scheduled for this year's meet which promises to provide some mid-week excitement. Check out the virtual meet previews below based on this year's 5K season bests.
