Stephen Decatur high jumper wins state championship BERLIN — Stephen Decatur sophomore Lucas Duker claims that he has no vertical jump, but his perceived lack of hops didn’t hold the high jumper back from winning the 3A state title at the Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association indoor track championship meet last week.Duker tied a personal best during the state meet inside of the PG Sports Complex, clearing a bar set at 6 feet to win the title. Bayside conference athletes find success at state championship Feb 27, 2013

Wilde Lake senior Tim Virostek is getting set for the final indoor track meet of his high school career, heading down to the PG Sports Complex on Tuesday for the 3A state championship meet. Virostek has already had a fantastic winter, starting back in December and continuing through the county and region meets. He won the 500- and 800-meter runs at the county championships, while capturing the 800 and 1,600 at the 3A East regional. (via baltimoresun.com)
