The superlatives escape him. She is not easily impressed. Mar 11, 2007

The superlatives escape him. She is not easily impressed. He is Rob Ronzano, coach of one Ryann Krais, the remarkably talented, genuinely humble talent who added another national title to her growing resume with the #3 all-time indoor Pentathlon on Saturday at the Nike Team Nationals. Ronzano saw the talent when she started her indoor season as a freshman. His reaction was to read everything he could find, and talk with as many coaches as he could - all in an effort to try to stay ahead of her talent curve. He's still ahead, but it's like trying to outrun a train. Sometimes it's just best to step off the track and watch. On Saturday at NIN, he coached. But he also watched, and what he saw from the junior again amazed him. "To be a little off and to still set a record, that's pretty special," Ronzano understated. Photo by John Herzog for the MileSplit Network

Nike Indoor Nationals Girls Preview Mar 09, 2007

Here is an event-by-event look at the girls competition in the Nike Indoor Nationals this weekend (March 10-11) in Landover, Maryland.

THE WHO to look out for from Virginia at Nike Indoor Nationals. Mar 09, 2007

Last year, Fork Union's Axel Mostrag nearly pulled off an improbable come from behind win in the DMR with a 4:13 1600m anchor leg. This year with relay members Szymon Rola (2:30 1000, 4:20 1600) and Jamie Reichlen (2:32), Fork Union may not have as a dramatic finish in the DMR, but Mostrag's attempt at double national titles on Sunday in the mile and 800 in a 1 1/2 hour span will have plenty.   WHOOOOOOO ARE YOU? WHO! WHO! WHO! WHO! Inspired by attending Thursday night's amazing concert in DC by The Who, we take a look at "The Who" as in the Virginians who should make the biggest noise this weekend at the 2007 edition of the Nike Indoor Nationals. Virginia will have a large delegation of its top athletes and relays competing at NIN this weekend as the state hopes to bring in more than a handful of national champions as well as a countless number of All-American top six finishers. In particular, three individuals stand the best shots at being national champions in two events a piece with Sean Holston in the 200 and 400 meter dash, Axel Mostrag in the mile and 800 meter run, and Aurora Scott in the 5K and two mile run.

Plan comes together for Henderson for DMR National title - with a little improv from Chris Aldrich Mar 13, 2007

Coaches plan. Athletes listen. When the coach is as accomplished and strategically experienced as West Chester Henderson's Kevin Kelly, and the athletes are as talented and coachable as Chris Ferry, Tim Shea, Andrew Jervis and Chris Aldrich, good things are bound to happen. Kelly had a plan. The runners knew that their workouts indicated they could beat the team they perceived as their main competition - Fork Union Military Academy of Virginia. Kelly outlined his battle plan to PennTrackXC's Gayle Rich. "Our strategy was to give Aldrich as big a lead as possible." Photo by David Fleenor for The MileSplit Network
