MileSplit Maryland is asking several of the top state's top returning cross country runners to share with us their summer training leading up to the 2016 XC season. Interested in blogging for us? Email us HERE.

Bethesda-Chevy Chase rising sophomore Virginia Brown was one of the top freshmen in the state of Maryland during the 2015 season, running a personal best 18:45.70 in a fourth-place effort at the Montgomery County Championships. While she could not run at the regional or state championships, she came back strong during the track season, clocking a personal best of 5:11.35 in the 1600. She finished in the top seven at states in the 1600 during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Brown will be a key component in the perennial Walter Johnson/B-CC battle for the 4A state team title.
