After not running much last indoor season, Whittaker broke out in a big way in the spring, clocking a personal best 3200 time of 9:32.50 - good enough for a MD #10 ranking. It was a large jump from someone who had never run under 10 minutes heading into the season, but he carried his improvement into the 2016 cross country season when he ran a personal best 5K of 16:13.50, helping the MSJ boys grab their second straight MIAA Championship. Look for his name near the top of the Maryland distance leaderboards this winter.
