Diehl had a solid indoor freshman season in 2016, clocking a 3200 season best of 10:08.50 and finishing fifth at the 2A State Championships. He dropped that down to 9:52 in a full two mile outdoors and then carried the success into this cross country season when he finished second at the 2A State Championships. Diehl has his sights set on potentially qualifying for the Emerging Elite two mile at New Balance Indoor Nationals and could likely cut down 20-30 seconds from his time a season ago.
