3A Girls High Jump

The 3A girls high jump was very close last season, with four girls ending at a height of five feet. Wilde Lake's Deanna Yancey, the defending champion, will be back next week to defend her title; she has cleared 5'2 in each of her past three high jump competitions - all wins. Two of the other three girls from last year, however, will also be back (Mount Hebron's Julia Shanley and Northern's Sarah Deresky). Yancey will also face new competition with Oakdale freshman Lauren Leatherman, who joined Yancey as the only 3A girls to clear 5'2 at the regional meets.
