Satsangi was second in the class of 2019 race last season behind Tuscarora's (VA) Ava Hassebrock; with Tuscarora not scheduled to race at DCXC this season this could be Satsangi's opportunity to bring home her second win of the season. She will have to go through Wootton's Jessica Trzeciak whose 19:45 performance at Track and Trail ranks fourth among all Maryland juniors, but Satsanig's 19:51 at Oatlands is arguably more impressive. Out of Virginia, Grafton's Kira Freedman might be the favorite entering the race coming off a 19:12 season best at the Pole Green Classic.
