Dozen Girls To Watch At 2018 MPSSAA State Championships

Ella Auderset (Urbana)

One of the most promising freshmen stars to arrive this year, Ella Auderset of Urbana has shown to have incredible range to run anything from 400 and 3200 meters. Several weeks ago at the Frederick County Champions, Auderset remarkably won the 400 (56.72), 800 (2:23), and 1600 in the same meet (5:18).

Auderset was the 4A state runner-up indoors in the 500 at 1:16.35, while her best event outdoors are debatable between the 400 (56.27) and 800 (2:16.97). Both of her PR's in those events came most recently at her regional meet on Tuesday, which was actually a make-up meet for her Urbana squad who were not allowed to travel to the original scheduled 4A North Regional meet on Saturday.

Auderset has the second fastest time in the season in 4A for the 400 by only 7 hundredths of a second, while she has second fastest time in the 800 behind only Abbey Green and Emily Knight. A first state title for the freshmen phenom is certainly not off the table this weekend.
