Is this finally the day that a Maryland team cracks the 9:40 barrier this winter? Both the Northern and Bullis girls have come close, and now it's Mount de Sales' turn. They certainly have the firepower to top the current state leaders; they have both the #2 (Juliette Whittaker) and #4 (Samantha Facius) ranked runners in the 800, plus the state's top 500 runner (Bella Whittaker). Other Maryland schools to watch include perennial powerhouses Severna Park, Walt Whitman, Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Damascus, Northwest and Walter Johnson.
