The Oakdale boys finished second to Linganore at last year's CMC Championships, losing on a sixth-runner tiebreaker. Four of their top five runners return as they shoot to avenge last year's narrow miss, including senior Kyle Lund. After finishing fifth at the 2A State Championships, he broke out in a big way on the track, clocking a state-leading 1:53.13 800 in the spring.

Boonsboro and Smithsburg have battled each other at the 1A State Championships over the past years, and Boonsboro came out on top last season. Boonsboro's Colin Bair and Andrew Simonson and Smithsburg's Bryson Brawner are all among the top ten returners this fall.

Tuscarora's Jeff Young isn't one of the top ten returners from last year's meet, but he finished the season strong with a top-30 effort at the 3A State Championships. He carried that success onto the track where he clocked a 1:59 800.

Frederick's Mario Martinez found his stride last fall, cracking the top ten at the Frederick County Championships. The Frederick boys rank fifth among teams in the CMC based on returning three mile times, led by Martinez, as well as three others who clocked sub-18:00 three mile times last season.

The Williamsport boys rank second in both the returning traditional and composite rankings. Leading the charge is rising senior Zane Chalker, who clocked a 9:47 3200 on the track this spring.
