Do you have a passion for photography or writing? Are you looking to pick up some extra cash outside of your 9-5 job? Are you a high school or college student looking to build a portfolio of published work? Do you simply love cross country?

If any of these apply to you, come join MileSplit Maryland's growing team of contributors! We are looking for interested contributors to join as one (or more) of the following for the 2019 cross country season:

  • Videographer: Race videos are a valuable part of our coverage. Every athlete wants to see themselves in action the day after a race, and family members who don't have the chance to make it on race day can watch them in action online. Our videographers make this happen. There is no experience needed - simply the ability to make from point to point on cross country courses, plus a portable handheld video camera and access to a video editing program (can be found on many computers, or available for download).
  • Photographer: Like race videos, race photos allow athletes, coaches and fans to relive their races and memorialize their experiences. Shooting race photos for MileSplit is a great way for photographers to build a profile of published online work, and just like shooting videos, all it requires is a camera and a passion for cross country.
  • Writers: Are you an aspiring journalist? Do you simply love writing about sports, or meeting and writing about cool people and events? Then writing for MileSplit could be the right job for you, especially if you don't have regular transportation to meets. Writers can contribute anything from meet previews and recaps to in-depth interviews with some of the top runners and coaches in the state.

Don't know if you have enough time to commit to being a contributor for MileSplit? Don't worry - even being available for a couple meets throughout the fall can help us grow our coverage of our sport here in Maryland.

We are especially looking for contributors available in the extreme east and west portions of the state, such as Washington County (and points further west) and the Eastern Shore.
