After ranking our top 50 teams before the season we will post updated top 25 rankings at the beginning of every week!

Saturday's Frank Keyser Invitational brought another matchup between the top two teams in the state, and the Severna Park girls came as close as they have all year to taking down Howard. The Falcons finished just three points behind the Lions thanks in large part to their minuscule 20 second 1-5 split. The two teams will meet again on Halloween evening at the 4A East regionals and will be joined by Broadneck, who finished 2nd at Glory Days.

The South Carroll girls were the only previously-ranked team to move up by more than one position. Behind junior Grace Siehler, who ran away from the rest of the small school girls field, the Cavaliers gave Liberty a run for their money in the team scores (Liberty beat them by ten points, 46-56). The two teams will be seeing a whole lot more of each other throughout the rest of the season leading up to the 2A state meet.

The only team to bump their way back into the rankings this week were Arundel. Senior Niya Torres continues to lead the team (third in the large school girls race at Frank Keyser) and the Wildcats finished fifth in the team scores, just two points behind Briar Woods (VA). The 23rd-ranked Wildcats are still just the sixth 4A East team in the rankings.
