Kick Of The Week Nominee: Jafar Hussen's Rundown In 3200!

Parkdale distance runner Jafar Hussen had an incredible kick and run down of race leader Luke Tewalt from Washington Latin in the seeded section of the boys 3200 at DCIAA Invitational.

Tewalt looked to be ready to pull away with the victory at the bell lap with about 2 to 3 second advantage over Hussen. However, the senior who finished 4th earlier in the meet in the 1600 and was coming off an 8th place All-State finish in the Maryland 4A state cross country race this fall was not to be denied.

Hussen rallied on the backstretch and slingshot past Tewalt for the win in a new indoor personal best time of 9:43.44. Hussen ran 9:42 last spring during the outdoor season. He came across the line super pumped and emotional over a signature win against one of the better distance runners in the DMV area in Tewalt.
