Bethany Graham Ready For Two Weeks of Big Races

John Champe senior Bethany Graham ran away from nearly all her competition this XC season. In her 11 races during XC she won eight and really wasn't pushed. This track season is different though.

Even though she is very much a track runner as well and owns some personal bests that rank high nationally, she is going to face some tough competition these next two weeks.

First though we need to recap her opener last week. At the Bulldog Invitational she clocked state leading times in the 1600 (4:57) and 3200 (10:56) to win both events handedly. It was a good start for her and for her coaches a gauge of where she stands now.

Unlike XC though, she is going to get some competition in just her second race when she races up in Maryland on Saturday at the Montgomery County Invite. It is there she will face off with Mount De Sales' Juliette Whitaker who is the current US leader over the Mile distance (4:44). Both are slated to compete in the 3200m run.

The following week Graham is entered in the VA Showcase's Millrose qualifier Mile and the invitational two mile where NXN and Foot Locker finalists are entered.

Bethany is the type of athlete that loves the competition and being pushed whether she wins or loses. Her goal though is to win.
