Over 50+ different teams from states like Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and more came together for the 2022 U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games. The meet was hosted by the Armory at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York. This meet was one of the first big invitationals for the new year.
Sprints
55 Meter Dash
James Hubert Blake's Nathan Busey had the fastest performance from a Marylander at the meet. Busey finished with a time of 6.85, which is considered an elite performance. Another Maryland athlete that performed well was Frederick Douglass-PG's Tyree Newman with a time of 6.94.
On the girls' side, McDonogh's Elise Cooper won the varsity division as a freshman. She finished first overall with a time of 7.21, which is a current MD #2 and a near top 30 time in the nation. Another superb performance came from Bryn Mawr's Ella Cooper with a new MD #4 of 7.37.
200 Meter Dash
Bullis' Sage Hinton put on an impressive show with a new MD #5 of 25.16, which is a near top 30 performance in the nation.
400 Meter Dash

Bullis' Sage Hinton ran an incredible time of 56.82, a new MD #1 and a US #11. Her teammate, Myla Greene, ran an MD #3 of 57.91, which is a top 25 time in the nation.

800 Meter Run

Milford Mill's Korede Otusajo improved on his own MD #1 with a new indoor PR of 1:53.42. Otusajo impressively dropped a full second off of his previous record of 1:54.65 and now holds a US #2 in the event. A few seconds behind was McDonogh's Owen Pett with a new MD #3 of 1:56.68. Another Maryland athlete that boasted an impressive time was Dulaney's Tyler Dailey with a time of 1:59.35, which is a tie for an MD #6 with Glenelg's Timothy Cherry.
James Hubert Blake's Ella Zeigler had an impressive run with a new MD #4 of 2:22.08. Glenelg's Kaila Spence also ran well with a time of 2:28.22, just less than two seconds short of her season-best of 2:26.72, which is a current MD #9.
1500 Meter Run
Glenelg's Kaila Spence ran a time of 5:10.11 in the 1500-meter event and placed third for the varsity girls division.
1 Mile Run

Once again, Dulaney's Tyler Dailey had another top performance at the meet. This time, it was in the one-mile event. Dailey ran a time of 4:24.86, which is a current MD #2 and ranks within the top 30 in the nation. Reservoir's Kidus Zeleke was another strong competitor in the event with a new MD #6 of 4:48.10.
Another Dulaney athlete had a top performance in the event. Anna Albergo ran a time of 5:46.27, which is a current MD #5.
Hurdles
55 Meter Hurdles
Bullis' Myla Greene ran a time of 8.35, which was just short of her current season-best of 8.33 (MD #1, US #11).
Field Events
Triple Jump
Frederick Douglass-PG's Tyree Newman had a performance of 44-05.00 in the event, which is a new MD #2.For the girls, Frederick Douglass-PG's Khandi Walker had a performance of 30-11.75 in the triple jump event, which is an MD #11.
Shot Put
Frederick Douglass-PG's Tyree Newman had a throw of 41-09.25, which is a top 25 performance in the state.
