After another riveting weekend of Maryland track and field, 10 athletes made it look easy at their respective meets across the state, with many of them showing out at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic.
Sydney Taylor (Bishop McNamara, 2027):
Taylor posted a 12.12 in the 100m and 24.71 in the 200m at the McNamara Mustang Invitational, then turned around and jumped 19-2 in the long jump and cleared 5-6 in the high jump at the O'Connell April Classic.
Mekhi Prather (Westlake, 2026):
The sprint lists belong to Prather this week, posting a 10.30 in the 100m and 20.96 in the 200m at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic. Both marks lead all boys in the state.
Rozelyn Sarfo (Oakland Mills, 2028):
Sarfo posted an 11.94 in the 100m, 24.86 in the 200m, and 19-5.50 in the long jump, all at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic.
Noah Hospedales (Westlake, 2026):
A 20.91 in the 200m leads all boys in the state this week, and his 47.85 in the 400m at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic shows the range is there at the longer end of the sprints as well.
Nkechi Streete (Broadneck Senior, 2027):
Streete leads the state in the long jump at 20-5.25 and the triple jump at 40-3.50, both at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic. No other girl in the state hit the two horizontal jump events at that level this week.
Braeden Dushkin (Century, 2027):
A 59-3 in the shot put leads all boys in the state this week, and his 162-1 in the discus ranks third, both posted at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic. His was the most complete performance among all boy throwers this week.
Teagan Bandholz (Poolesville, 2026):
Bandholz leads all girls in the shot put at 42-4.50 and the discus at 134-2, both at the Under Armour Black & Blue Invitational.
Michael Price (DeMatha Catholic, 2026):
Price leads all boys in the 300mH at 38.18 from the O'Connell April Classic and ranks second in the 110mH at 14.51 at the McNamara Mustang Invitational.
Kiri Mitchell (Western, 2027):
Mitchell posted a 14.58 in the 100mH and 56.05 in the 400m, both at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic.
James Mirembe (St. James School, 2026):
Mirembe ran a 1:55.31 in the 800m and 4:23.15 in the 1600m, both at the Sam Singleton Scorpion Classic.
