The next generation of Maryland track stars took their talents to a few different meets across the state, with one of the busier competitions being the MISAL Meet #5 at the Riverdale Baptist SportsPlex.
As we head into the final few weeks of the middle school season, here are eight of the top performers from this meet last weekend!
Top Performers:
McKinley Hooker Askee (Grace Brethren Christian, 2030):
Hooker Askee led all girls in the 100m (13.46) and the long jump (14-10), giving her the strongest combined sprint and field profile among all girls at the meet.
Mark Eggleston (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
A 12.01 in the 100m, 24.65 in the 200m, and 57.68 in the 400m put Eggleston among the top sprinters across all three sprint events last week.
Bailey Tinch-Jacobs (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
Tinch-Jacobs led all girls in the 200m at 28.45 and finished second in the 100m at 13.50, making her arguably the top-performing sprinter from the meet.
Justin Reid Jr (Holy Trinity Episcopal, 2030):
Reid Jr led all boys in the long jump at 15-8.50 and also posted a 25.20 in the 200m, covering both the track and the runway in the same meet.
Maya Thorpe (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
Thorpe led all girls in the shot put at 36-2, the top throws mark posted by any girl at the meet last week.
Kharson Mccall (Grace Brethren Christian, 2031):
Mccall led all boys in the 400m at 55.86, and his 12.44 in the 100m and 25.85 in the 200m round out a sprint profile that covered all three events last week.
Synai Glover (Calvary Christian, 2031):
Glover finished second in the shot put at 35-1.50 and also ran a 31.52 in the 200m, contributing in both the throws and the sprints last week.
Daniel Forlu (Riverdale Baptist, 2030):
Forlu posted a 57.47 in the 400m and 15-7 in the long jump, giving him a versatile profile across the track and field events last week.
