Emily Peoples Leads Green Terror At Centennial Conference

 

Peoples finishes 39th

 

NEWVILLE, Pa. – Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) finished 39th overall to lead McDaniel to a ninth-place finish at the 2011 Centennial Conference (CC) women's cross country championship hosted by Dickinson at Big Spring High School on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 267 points. Johns Hopkins won its fourth straight title with 43 points, edging Haverford by nine points.

Peoples finished the snowy and windy 6,000-meter course in a time of 26:23.9.

Becky Kaler (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished 62nd with a time of 27:48.0 while Missy Black (Atglen, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) was 73rd a time of 28:23.0.

Laura Shinn (Weehawken, N.J./Pennington) finished 88th (29:45.2) while Joy Chand (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) rounded out the scoring finishers for McDaniel in 93rd (30:26.8).

Avalon McOmber (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) was 97th (30:49.5) while Kristen Beil (Parkton, Md./Hereford) and Lauren Murray (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) were 99th (30:52.9) and 101st (30:52.9), respectively.

McDaniel returns to action at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional at DeSales. The first race begins at 11 a.m.
