High hopes: Wicomico indoor track team looking to build on last year

SALISBURY    — The Wicomico High School indoor track team is hoping that some of the late-season success they experienced last year will carry into its new campaign. Cape's track girls win at Worcester by half a point - By Dave Frederick

The golden era of sports for Cape girls from the spring of 2009 through the fall of 2012 includes eight state championships: four lacrosse, two field hockey and two for the girls' Division I outdoor track and field team. The few zealots and pundits who follow the sport closely didn’t expect Cape to be back in the tank of contention with the departure of big fish Shanel Dickens and Ali Coning.
