Through two years at Leonardtown, Nelle Ray has racked up two cross country regional titles and has finished fourth and sixth at the state cross country meet. This year's race will probably look a lot like it did in 2018 - nine of the top eleven runners are back for 2019 - and Ray could be right back in the mix. (Photo by Lisa McArthur)
Only two of the top ten runners from last year's 4A State championship graduated, and this year's race could be even more unpredictable than last year's, when Bronwyn Patterson pulled away from the lead pack during the final mile of the race. As for the team battle, Severna Park, Howard, Broadneck and Whitman all have three of the top 25 returners.
