Esmeralda Romero of Academy for College and Career Exploration in Baltimore made a remarkable time drop in year's time to finish third in the 1A girls race with a time of 20:47. A big improvement from last year when she ran a time of 25:31 on the same course at the state meet to drop an incredible 4 minutes and 44 seconds. Her success can certainly be an inspiration for runners across the state, but especially runners within the city of Baltimore.
