Interview: Brookland Cayce's Chase Shealy John Olson Apr 4, 2003

Chase Shealy is a senior at Brookland Cayce. Shealy's indoor campaign included a win at the Virginia Tech Challenge and a second place finish at the Nike Indoor Championships in Landover, Maryland. Last time out Shealy cleared 16'6" at the Coaches Classic on Mar. 29. Chase will continue his pole vault career next year at Arkansas State University.This outdoor season Shealy is looking to clear 17'10" in the vault. Also showing exceptional outings in the vault this outdoor season is Mitch Greeley of Northwestern, Beth Jordan of Aiken, and Helen Kirkland of Wando.

The state of Virginia expects to be well represented at this weekend\'s Nike Indoor Championships not only in numbers, but as well as in national titles and All-American performances with many hopefuls. In it\'s fifth running, NIC will be held for the third year in a row at the Prince George\'s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland. The meet will be run as a two day event with a heavy schedule of competition on both Saturday and Sunday.
