FRIENDS OF INDOOR TRACK INVITATIONAL

DATE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2009

LOCATION: PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY SPORTS COMPLEX

ENTRIES: EACH SCHOOL MAY ENTER ONE RELAY TEAM IN EACH OF THE FOUR RELAYS; AND, TWO ATHLETES IN EACH RUNNING AND FIELD EVENT. WE ARE NOT SETTING SPECIFIC QUALIFYING STANDARDS; BUT, ASK EACH COACH TO SEND LEGITIMATE VARSITY ATHLETES WITH REALISTIC SEED PERFORMANCES.

ENTRY FEE: $250.00 PER SCHOOL WITH BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. OTHERWISE, $125.00 PER TEAMBOYS AND GIRLS SEPARATE. CHECKS PAYABLE TO: F.I.T.

ENTRIES DUE: WE ARE CLOSING ENTRIES AT 35 SCHOOLS. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE DONE THIS YEAR VIA THE MILESPLIT NETWORK. PLEASE SEE PAGE 4 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

YOU MUST REQUEST TO GET INTO THE MEET AND GET THE PASSWORD IN ORDER TO DO YOUR ENTRIES ONLINE.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED ON THE MILESPLIT NETWORK AND HAVE BEEN ADDED AS A TEAM ADMINISTRATOR FOR YOUR TEAM. IT TAKES A COUPLE OF DAYS TO GO THROUGH, SO DO THIS NOW!!!

ALL ENTRY FEES ARE DUE BY SATURDAY, DEC. 26th ! ENTRIES WILL CLOSE AT 9:00 PM ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 27th

AWARDS: NO TEAM SCORING. MEDALSTOP 3 RELAYS; TOP 6 INDIVIDUALS

JUMPS: THE LONG AND TRIPLE JUMPS WILL EACH BE SEEDED INTO 2 FLIGHTS. EACH FLIGHT WILL HAVE A 90 MINUTE OPEN PIT JUMP TIME AND SEPARATE WARM-UP TIMES. EACH JUMPER WILL GET 3 JUMPS. NO FINALS. ALL LEGAL JUMPS WILL BE MEASURED. WE WILL HAVE TWO PITS OPEN SIMULTANEOUSLY.

RUNNING EVENTS: ALL RACES WILL BE CONDUCTED AS SECTIONS BASED ON SEED TIME. SECTIONS WILL MOVE FROM SLOW TO FAST.

o F.A.T. FOR ALL RACES EXCEPT DMR AND 4X800
o DISTANCE MEDLEY RELAY: 1200-400-800-1600.
o OPENING HEIGHTS: BOYS HJ-56; GIRLS HJ=46; POLE VAULT=76-GIRLS; 96-BOYS
o LISTEN CAREFULLY FOR RUN-THRU AVAILIBILITY IN PITS.
o ADMISSION IS $5.00.
o ALL RUNNERS MUST CHECK IN AT THE BULLPEN AT FIRST CALL. BE PREPARED TO CHECK IN EARLYSECTIONS MAY BE COMBINED. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR RELAY CARD!!!
o PLEASE GIVE A LECTURE TO YOUR ATHLETES ABOUT NOT STEALING, WATCHING THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT, NOT LEAVING ANY TRASH, AND UNIFORM AND JEWELRY RULE.

PLEASE LET US KNOW EARLY IF YOU NEED TO BE MOVED TO A SLOWER SECTIONBECAUSE THE ATHLETES YOU BROUGHT CANT RUN THE SEED TIME!!

PARKING CRISIS: NO CARS ARE TO ENTER MAIN ENTRANCE TO SPORTS COMPLEX. DRIVE DIRECTLY UP TOWARD FED EX FIELD AND PARK IN RV LOT.

IT IS A 400M WALK TO FIELD HOUSE. WE HOPE TO HAVE A SHUTTLEBUS WORKING. PLEASE ALERT PARENTS.

Entering Via Milesplit Nework

You can go to milesplit network by typing in www.milestat.com. If you are from somewhere other than Virginia, look to the top left of the page, and there is a pull down menu that will take you to your states web page. Then simply follow the directions below. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER AND REQUEST TO BE AN ADMIN FOR YOUR TEAM AS SOON AS POSSILBE. THE PROCESS TAKES A DAY OR SO, SO PLEASE REGISTER AND ASK TO BE A TEAM ADMIN IMMEDIATELY.

1. Login or Register - You must have a user name and password for Milesplit. To get that, if you don't have one, click register in the top right gray MileSplt bar directly under the Universal Sports logo and search box.
2. Claim Your Team - If you haven't already set this up, you must be registered as a coach or team administrator to register for a meet In order to get set up, you go to your team page, and at the top right, click Claim This Team. Choose either that you want to be a coach or team admin. Follow the instructions on that page. Apply and submit. Once you do that and are approved (usually within a few hours), you will receive a confirmation email and you'll be set to go to the next step.
3. Update Your Roster - If your team's roster is not already up to date, now is a good time to get any corrections made and add any additional athletes to it. Go to your team page, login, and you will see button that says "Team Administration" to the right of your team's name. Click that and then click roster on left hand toolbar. Enter or update your roster, adding any new athletes. To move graduated athletes to Alumni, simply add their graduation year and hit save.
4. Enter the Meet - Go to the season calendar and click on the green meet registration button of the meet you want to enter. Read and follow the instructions carefully and fill out the form completely. Once entered you'll see all of the available events/races listed out. To put your athletes into these events/races click the "Edit Entries" link by the event. On the following page, check the athletes you want in the race (putting in seed times if applicable), and click the save button at the bottom. Do this for each event/race. You will be able to change and update these entries until the entry deadline.
