Good news from the PIAA on the eve of the state Track & Field Championships.
There are rules that may have been violated. There were numerous complaints made to the PIAA. There will be a consistent application of any decisions. But the bottom line is, some PA athletes may not be able to compete during the indoor season of 2005-2006.

24 All-American honors total were bestowed to Virginians in the final day of competition at the Nike Indoor Nationals on Sunday. Two Virginian individuals and one relay were crowned national champions. Fauquier\'s Sarah Bowman took charge of the girls\' mile race early on and never let go of her lead as she won convincingly in a time of 4:46.79. Bowman recaptured the title which she won two years ago as a sophomore. An All-American a year ago, Thomas Dale senior Dennis Boone is now a national champion in the long jump at Nike as the favorite and national leader did not disappoint with a winning leap of 24-7.75 in the event. The Bethel girls, led by individual All-Americans Francena McCorory (2nd, 60m dash) and Shakirra Pinnock (4th, 400m dash), won the national championship in the 4x200 meter relay with a 1:40.59 as McCorory split a 23.4 on anchor.
Spring Valley junior Kate Niehaus finished first in the Nike Indoor Championships two-mile today. Niehaus crossed the line in 10:31.87 with North Dakota\'s Krista Anderson right behind Niehaus in 10:32.14.
Virginians kicked off the first day of competition at the Nike Indoor Nationals in impressive style as they picked ten All-American honors, which included a national championship by the Michael Chapa anchored J.R. Tucker boys\' distance medley relay (10:20.26). Held at the Prince George County\'s Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland, day two should have even greater performances from Virginians.
