Don't Look Back Rachel McArthur! State Championships Are Ahead!

This past week, we helped out MileStat.com, our MileSplit Virginia site, cover the VHSL 5A & 6A North Regionals at PG with video coverage on Wednesday and Thursday. In Thursday's girls 4x400 meter relay at the 6A North Regional, Patriot junior Rachel McArthur anchored her squad to the win in the event from a slow section with a 59 second split. Earlier, she had run 5:03 in the 1600 from the slow section as well as split 2:15 for her 4x800 meter relay.

All of those were solid races by McArthur, but more impressive feat had to be the number of times which she turned her head around to look off her anchor legs in the 4x400 meter relay chasing her. We put a fun video together to actually keep track of the number of "head turns" by Rachel during her two lap leg. Enjoy!

Its an exciting weekend to look AHEAD in both Maryland and Virginia. Maryland 1A/2A and 3A/4A State Championships are on Monday and Tuesday at PG, while Virginia hosts their 5A/6A State Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, Virginia along with VIrginia's 1A/2A and 3A/4A State Championships being held on four consecutive days at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia from Wednesday thru Saturday.

Let's see the DMV turn some heads nationally with some great performances at the state meets this week in Maryland and Virginia!
