Hi everyone! This was my first week with two real workouts and a long run, and I can definitely feel it in my legs right now. Sunday was my last day at Camp Swiftfoot and we ran on the C&O Canal and waded (or, in my case, swam) across the Potomac River! It was so much fun and the water was surprisingly warm, although I was not a fan of having a fish run into me. The camp that I went to had a middle school camp Monday-Thursday. My sister went and I volunteered to help out Monday and Wednesday. On Tuesday I was lucky enough to have some of the boys on my team run my workout with me. On Wednesday I got to swim across the Potomac again in the morning with the camp! Then that evening I ran with some of the girls on my team including my favorite recent graduate (I miss her already). On Thursday I was really tired so my workout wasn't as fast as I would have liked it to be, but that's okay because it's still July. Saturday was my last swim meet of the season and we just managed to finish it before it started to storm. It continued to storm for the rest of the day, but one brave soul was willing to run my long run with me even though there was still lightning, ominous thunder and some lovely rain (do NOT try this at home!!!) That's it for now - stay safe, don't run when there is lightning and I'll talk to you next week :).
