Summer Training Blog: Nick Tilson (Entry #2)


Entry #2 August 1-7

Monday, August 1:

As the temperature dropped in the evening, I did 4.5 miles around 6:45 pace.

Tuesday, August 2:

I woke up early today and did seven miles at 7:10 pace.

Wednesday, August 3:

My shins were feeling a little bit sore, so today was an easy day. I ran four miles at 7:00 pace.

Thursday, August 4:

I took today off. I am planning on doing some up-tempo work in the next few days so I figured I would let my body recover.

Friday, August 5:

I did five miles up-tempo at 6:15 pace and felt pretty good. I did a lot of stretching afterwards to prevent my body from being sore tomorrow.

Saturday, August 6:

Today I ran four miles at 7:00 pace, with a core workout afterwards.

Sunday, August 7:

Normally I take Sundays off, but I got home from the beach today and after a few hours in the car I was in the mood for a run. I went up to Liberty and did five miles on the course with a rising junior, John Lemaster, at 6:20 pace. Afterwards I did three 400 meter accelerators. I had a few aching pains on the run today but that was from breaking in a new pair of shoes for the season.
