Five Meet Records That Could Fall At Saturday's Montgomery Invitational

Boys 55 Meter Dash and Hurdles

No meet record is safe when Baltimore Poly senior William Henderson is entered. He owns the US #1 mark in the 55 meter dash at 6.31 which he clocked at last weekend's Hispanic Games, and he set the meet record in the same event at the F.I.T. Invitational earlier this winter. The meet record for the Montgomery Invitational is 6.26 seconds - one of the more impressive performances in the meet's fifteen year history - and Henderson is within five hundredths of a second entering Saturday. The field also features another of Maryland's top sprinters, Northwest's Josh Netterville, who clocked a personal best of 6.47 way back in early December.

Not only is Henderson the top sprinter in the state, he is also currently the top hurdler. He ran a personal best and MD #1 of 7.42 at the F.I.T. Invitational over winter break, showing no problem in handling the 55 dash/hurdle double. The meet record of 7.39 in the hurdles was set just last year by Northwest's Shyheim Wright, one of the best hurdlers the state has ever seen. With a good day Henderson could grab not just one, but two meet records on Saturday.
