In terms of the 3A boys high jump, one competitor stands out head and shoulders above the rest: Linganore's Carter Holsinger. He cleared 13'5 at the Frederick County Championships, more than a foot better than any other 3A competitor has cleared this winter. Westminster's Danny Gillcrist set a new personal best of 12'3 at the 3A West Regionals, finishing second behind Holsinger. Beyond them, only Reservoir's Josh Krutz has both cleared 11 feet and advanced to the state meet.
