Maryland State Meet Day 2 Event Recap!

Girls 4x800:
From the get-go, Eleanor Roosevelt led the race. The Lady Raiders dominated the race, winning in a ridiculous and record-setting time of 9:13.5. Next through the chute were the Whitman Girls, running another spectacular time of 9:33.

Boys 4x800:
This 3200m relay was juicy until the last 150 meters. From the 5th lap, Quince Orchard and Eleanor Roosevelt stuck right with each other. Going into the last leg, QO's 3rd man put in a ferocious kick to give his team the lead. QO held onto the lead for the next three laps, but was overtaken by a great kick from ER's anchor leg. Churchill took the bronze in 8:20.02.
The approximate splits for the top 2 teams were as follows:
ER: 2:02, 2:03, 2:05, 2:02: 8:12.9
QO: 2:02, 2:04, 2:03, 2:05: 8:15.4

Girls 300m:
Robyn Chapman of Douglass took the lead in the first straightaway and never let go. Chapman churned to a blazing 39.90, closely followed by Sommerville of Western in 40.34. Michaylin Golladay rounded out the podium with a 40.71.
