9. Kasey Gelfand (Severna Park)
Kasey Gelfland is a classic example of the Severna Park boys ability each year to reload with new names and faces to step up in a formidable varsity seven lineup despite graduation losses. Gelfand, who only has a 1600 meter PR of 4:59, finds himself running in the #3 man spot for the 3-time defending 4A state champions dropping a 16:11 5K PR two weeks ago at the Northampton Invitational in Pennsyvlania and then last week dipping under 17 minutes again at the White Clay Creek Classic in Delaware. Expect Gelfand to run his third sub 17 5K race on Saturday at Oatlands in his third different state in as many weeks.
