Maryland Recap From NXN Southeast: No Nationals Qualifiers, But Experience Gained

Frosh/Soph Girls Race

The Paint Branch cross country program had Maryland's fastest performer on the day in Bethlehem Taye's 18:08 run in the championship girls race. They may have another future star in sophomore Yasmine Kass, who won the freshmen/sophomore girls race at NXN Southeast in a time of 19:52. Kass created separation from the rest of the field in the first mile and never looked back for a 16 second margin of victory.

The Dulaney girls will lose several seniors from their varsity lineup this year, but should be strong for years to come as shown with their freshmen/sophomore race squad winning the team title in the division with 23 points and three top 10 finishers in the race with Meghan Robinson (6th, 20:51), Destiny Clinton (9th, 21:11), and Rachel Krug (10th, 21:32).
