While the 4A girls 800 and 3200 state meet records are stunning, the top 1600 time is much more vulnerable. Roosevelt's Marika Walker set the mark to beat at 5:00.59 in 2007, a mark that Annapolis' Maria Coffin came within two and a half seconds away from beating last indoor season. Coffin ran the equivalent of a sub-5:00 1600 last indoor season in the Montgomery Invitational mile, so the real question may be whether or not she will go all-out for the record or save her energy for the potential showdown with Abbey Green in the 3200.
