2A Girls 55 Hurdles

The girls 55 hurdle record is one of the oldest at the 2A indoor state championships; it was set back in 1993 by Hammond's Kisha Jett. This year, however, Lackey's Sydney Williams has a shot at taking it down. Her 2016 personal best of 8.05 is already better than the 2A record and she ran less than a tenth of a second off the record at last year's state championships. She also has the fastest returning time in the event among 2A girls by over half a second, so even if she doesn't get the record she is still the favorite to defend her title coming into the season.
